Today, we didn’t do that much. It was a public holiday: Queen’s Birthday, which is in April but it was moved in June because in April, there is already Easter and there was nothing in June…
This morning, we had a great Australian breakfast with Tim Tam and hot chocolate / coffee: you use a TimTam like a straw to drink the hot chocolate or coffee and then, you eat the Tim Tam and it melts in your mouth. So yummy!! And we also tried the Vegemite properly on a toast with butter (it isn’t that bad finally, but definitely not for breakfast, maybe on a sandwich with something else.). And Jeremie found the perfect cup :-)
After that, Maria and Michael took us on a tour in the outback of Maryborough. We saw a lovely typical timber house and the historic Dickabram bridge, built in 1886, which is one of the only two rail and vehicular bridges of its kind in Australia. We drove through the sugar cane fields and some pineapple fields as well and we saw the industry in Maryborough. It was very interesting.
Then, we had a great lunch and played all together (with Genevieve, their daughter) to Scrutineyes, a really good board game in which you have to be a good observer.
Then, we shared a good dinner (curried eggs) and great talks.
