Sunshine Coast Hinterland05 juin 2014
Today, we went to Montville, a cute little town in the hinterland. There are plenty of lovely shops and cafés. We had a coffee at The Edge, a café with an amazing view!
Then, we visited Kondalilla National Park and went for a walk of 4.7 km to see the Kondalilla Falls (80 m) and the Rockpool. Kondalilla is an Aboriginal name meaning rushing waters.
Next, we had a picnic at Mapleton Falls National Park and went for a walk in the beautiful rainforest.
Before getting to the coast, we stopped at the big Pineapple in Woombye. Inside, there is an interesting museum. Did you know that the ideal temperature for growing pineapple is between 16° et 32° C ? The Sunshine Coast Hinterland is excellent for growing pineapple because of an average rainfall of 600 mm and an average of 2555 hours of sunshine annually!
Finally, we went to the lovely city of Mooloolaba for a walk along the beautiful beaches.
