Parrots in Paradise07 août 2014
Wednesday 6th August: Day off
On the morning, we left Gemma and Stefano with a bit of sadness :-( It was a great experience : we're going to miss them, the divine food and the fresh orange juice we drank every morning. We took the crazy road with the many creek crossings for the last time.
During the day, we just relaxed. We went to watch the movie Lucy: don't go, it's the worst movie ever! The topic is really interesting but Luc Besson was unable to do something good with it and Scarlett Johansson's acting is horrible... Waste of time and waste of money, too bad :-(
Then, we went to Point Danger in Coolangatta to have a walk and enjoyed the sceneries.
Finally, we drove to Tingalpa, suburb of Brisbane to stay with Ged for the night. We had a lovely night together and great fun, especially when he explained us the rules of cricket with Lego :-)
Thursday 7th August: Our new mission
This morning, we drove to the Glass House Mountains to start our new Helpx mission in a bird sanctuary called Parrots in Paradise. It's a wonderful place for parrots lovers! There are 350 funny, amazing and beautiful birds: they talk, they sing (they really like Jingle Bells), they imitate cat... We are with 3 other helpxers: one guy from Canada, one girl from Finland and one girl from France. And there are also volunteers. Most of our job is to feed them and to clean: quite easy. Our 1st day was busy but very interesting.
Can't wait to be friends with all the birds :-)
