Thursday 21 August:
Show day! We had to wake up earlier and do our chores quickly to greet the public at 10.00 am. 45 persons came to attend the show. Our job was to enjoy the show :-) and bring the birds back to the cage.
The show is divided in two parts: introduction of all the birds with interesting comments and the Alexandrine show.
Then, we served tea and coffee while they were having lunch. Finally, we talked with people while visiting the aviary. After lunch, we relaxed for one hour before doing our afternoon shift.
On the evening, Isabelle made Bolognese Pasta with Melanie. A great day!

Friday 22 August:
Another horrible rainy day... After our chores, Isabelle cleaned the oven and Jeremie spent the rest of the day building a new trolley (which is used everyday during the morning and afternoon shift). He did a great job!
today, an accident happened in the freedom cage :-( A new Alexandrine female seriously bit a budgie... She and her mate, our favourite bird, had to be moved in a small cage... Heartbreaking :-(

Beautiful birds:

  • A wonderful Red-Winged
  • Curley, the male Gang-Gang Cockatoo (who says "Hello Curley" but is quite aggressive)
  • Chi chi, a wonderful crossing between a Red-Winged and a King parrot
