Great Keppel Island06 sept. 2014
Today, we went to Great Keppel Island, a 14.5 km2 island situated 30 minutes in ferry from Rosslyn Bay.
We spent the day on the beach, relaxing and enjoying the sun! The beaches are absolutely stunning with white sand and crystal clear water! Jérémie was brave enough to go snorkelling in the cold water and saw a few fish and coral.
After picnic, we went for a walk to see another beach as stunning as the one before!
On the way back to the main beach to catch the ferry, we saw a snake which escaped by climbing in a tree... It was the 1st time we saw a snake while walking in Australia. Now that we are in North Queensland, in a more tropical climate, this will probably happen more often :-(
Tonight, we had a great night with Jan who cooked a delicious beef curry! We talked about everything and she even showed us acupuncture (she is a naturopath and massage therapist): the needle really doesn't hurt but it gives a strange feeling. Very interesting!
