Discovering Cairns09 oct. 2014
After a good sleep, we went to Crystal Cascades, a secluded freshwater swimming hole, hidden in a tropical rainforest. A series of small waterfalls flow into large pools surrounded by boulders. It is pretty beautiful. We saw plenty of gorgeous butterflies, including Ulysses butterfly.
Then, we went to Flecker Botanic Gardens: they are wonderful gardens to walk around. We definitely love tropical plants as they are so colorful, amazing, stunning... very different from what we know.
We had a very pleasant picnic in the park (observing ants trying to move food much bigger than them) and then, we had a lovely walk in the tropical rainforest opposite to the Botanic Gardens.
Next, we headed towards the city and walked in the streets. It is a touristy but still nice city. We finished our day at the Lagoon where we had a swim!
Tonight, we chatted with everybody and listened to Dave's interesting stories.
