Behana Gorge10 nov. 2014
Saturday 8 November
Dave took us to Behana Gorge for the day and it was amazing!
The gorge is located 30 km south of Cairns and supplies the town’s water. To get there, we had to walk 3.2 km (45 minutes) on a lovely but very hilly path in the peaceful eucalyptus forest. Finally, we arrived to a stunning waterfall running into a deep granite gorge: absolutely fantastic!
As soon as we arrived, we jumped into the cool water to get refreshed. We swam under the waterfall and had a lot of fun. Then, we had lunch in the shade and we swam again before leaving. The hike back was much easier because it was mostly down hill.
We finished the day relaxing at home.
Sunday 9 November
On the morning, we went to Rusty's Market, a place we love, to do some shopping and some tastings :-) The pineapples and the Bowen mangoes are a delight! We went back home to cook the desserts for the evening: pineapple and banana tiramisu.
After lunch, we relaxed at home (too hot to go outside) and around 4:00 pm, we went to The Lagoon in Cairns CBD to have a lovely swim.
On the evening, we cooked pasta carbonara for Dave and Sally.
Monday 10 November
The job hunting continues...
Tonight, Dave cooked slow cooked lamb with mashed potatoes, peas and honey carrots: so yummy :-)
