Dalat09 avr. 2015
This morning, we left Nha Trang on a bus to Dalat which is higher in the mountains. It took us 4 hours to drive 140 km... Here it is cooler and it was overcast. Before arriving, we saw fields full of greenhouses.
Dalat is located 1,500 m above sea level, it is a popular tourist destination in Vietnam and the Honeymoon capital for Vietnamese people (we wonder why). The city’s temperate weather stands in contrast to Vietnam's otherwise tropical climate. With its year-round cool weather, Da Lat supplies temperate agriculture products for all over Vietnam, for example cabbage and cauliflower, strawberry, sweet potato and flowers.
When we arrived, our first impression of the city was bad: one of the ugliest cities we have seen in Vietnam so far :-( But then, we walked around the lake and it was much better there. There is a huge market area where they sell heaps of fruits and vegetables, flowers, meat... Very impressive!
Next, we found a big supermarket, the biggest we have found in Asia :-D. We did some shopping, had dinner in the shopping centre, took some photos by night and went back to the hotel.
