Exploring Ko Samui18 mai 2015
Ko Samui is Thailand's second-largest island after Phuket, with an area of 228.7 km2, a population of over 63,000 and a total inventory of more than 18,000 hotel rooms in 2015. Luckily we are in low season :-)
Sunday 17th May:
The best way to explore the island is by renting a motorbike. So we did! We saw great views and went up to Chaweng Beach (busy but not so good to us). Then, we went shopping in a big shopping centre! And we decided to go to the cinema to watch Avengers - The Age of Ultron (it was awesome!). On the way back, we stopped to Crystal Bay, a stunning and quiet bay with white sand and transparent water.
Monday 18th May:
This morning, we kept exploring Ko Samui and went up North to Bo Phut Beach where we found nothing special to see... We visited a small market and the Big Buddha. But the most beautiful was Wat Plai Laem with its white 18-arm image of Guanyin, the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion and all the colorful temples around.
Then, we spent the afternoon at Crystal Bay which is very well named because the water is so clear that you don't need any snorkelling gear to watch the fish: you can just walk in the water to spot them. We saw a few different fish and we even saw a small moray eel. Amazing!
We went back to our hotel to have an apéro, went out for dinner and we finished the day with a swim in the pool!
