Phra Nang Beach and Krabi07 mai 2015
This morning, we took a long tail boat to go to Phra Nang Beach in Railay which is said to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand. Well, it is definitely a very beautiful beach: beautiful peach color sand and turquoise water with massive cliffs framing each end of the beach: stunning! We took a lovely alley to access the beach and on the way, we saw cute monkeys.
Obviously, the beach is famous for its beauty, so there are a lot of tourists coming by speed boats from all around to have a quick swim (mainly russian and chinese tourists). There are also climbers climbing right off the beach. But the most bizarre thing on Phra Nang Beach is Phra Nang Cave or the Phallus Shrine. The cave contains a large collection of carved wooden phallic symbols, offerings and other objects believed to help with fertility. Very strange!
We came back to Krabi in the early afternoon, had lunch to the market, did a bit of shopping and went back to our hotel.
We went out for dinner, walked in the streets where we saw a cultural festival with dance and food (where we tried some good stuff) and had a great dinner.
We are quite happy to be back in Thailand and we really like Krabi which is a cute town. Here it is very clean, people are nice and smiling and as usual, Thai food is sooo good!
